Questions to ask inside your business plan

Where will you be found? Will be on a website (we strongly recommend), social media (which ones), how often will you post? What will you post?

Once you determine which blend of online presence will work best for you, keep in mind that often less is more. It is important to present a professional brand across your site and social media channels to ensure you leave prospects and customers with the best impression possible. Be sure to make a brand identity and then be consistent to that across the channels you use. Keep your logo, colors and fonts consistent so that over time it will become easier for customers to recognize. As you consider your content plan, always link back to all your pages to ensure you get the credit as search engines rank how many people are searching and talking about products every day.

It is impossible to create the ideal list of components that make a great website, but here are some tips that will get you on the right track.

On the customer facing side:

  • Good visuals. Show your product off.
  • Good content and information. Are you an expert in your niche? Prove it and the traffic will follow.
  • Provide clear direction and strong Call to Actions to help customers know how to buy.

On the back side:

How many keywords show up in the ranking? If you can get a high number of keywords in the ranking, it will give you a higher relevancy and therefore more prominence in search.

Remember, Relevance + Distance = Prominence
